Theater: Drink Some Strange Wine This Weekend

Theater: Drink Some Strange Wine This Weekend

Park City--This weekend marks the third and final show of Strange Wine Theater's inaugural season, when they put on the whodunnit Deathtrap. President Susan Giroux promises some surprises, "even if you saw the movie, or you've seen the play before." Credit (or blame?) director Thom Watson, moonlighting from Magic Garden, where he leads the resident company. No surprise in the staff or the cast, though: Strange Wine is made up of moonlighters, most of whom are professionals in some capacity for Magic, City, The New Palace, Rose is a Rose, and a few other troupes and spaces in the city and the region. According to Giroux, they started the theater to experiment with new positions (that means lighters get to do sound and musicians get to act) and to bring anew voice to the already crowded downtown scene. Could be very interesting. See for yourself. Deathtrap at the Loft, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7pm. 555-1808.
